Functional assessments and daily living tasks.
At OT+ we will assess what you can do, discuss what is important to you, and look at ways to help you engage and participate in everyday meaningful tasks important to enhancing your lived experience.
OT+ You.
- You are unique, so capturing who you are is of the highest importance when completing an occupational therapy functional assessment. Understanding the difficulties and challenges you face is one thing, but it is equally important to appreciate your history, your lived experience, and your future desires, to allow for a better understanding of your individuality and aspirations.
OT+ Occupations of daily living.
- There are many occupations we perform throughout the day to ensure our lives are complete. Occupations start from the moment we wake up, until the moment we go to sleep. Occupations within the home include how we manage our personal care routines, such as washing, grooming, and dressing, or domestic based tasks such as cooking and laundry, or being able to transfer on and off various furniture items like the bed, chair, and toilet, or accessing a bathing facility.
OT+ Environment.
- The environment we live in is an extension of who we are. A home has sentimental meaning and should not just be seen as bricks and mortar but instead be appreciated as a personalised place we call home. It is important to be able to access essential facilities within the home to complete meaningful occupations. An environment can be viewed from an internal perspective with access to various rooms inside the home, and externally to provide access to the home from the public path.
OT+ Occupational therapist.
- OT+ occupational therapists are experts in functional assessments. Our occupational therapists are experienced and knowledgeable in understanding the complexities of how an individual performs daily tasks and how they interact within their home environment. Our occupational therapists can recommend, plan, and design complex adaptations, offer specialist advice on all housing types, advise on specialist functional equipment aids, or provide moving and handling assessment for individuals with more complex mobility needs.
